Mahogany chest of drawers

£795.00

Mahogany chest of drawers.

A pretty example of a chest of drawers converted from a commode, a quite common conversion which now makes for a practical piece of antique furniture.

Early 19th century in origin with the alteration being made later. Originally it would of consisted of a hinged lid and front, the four drawers fronts being false to give the impression of a chest of drawers. Now since the conversion the faux front has been successfully converted to be four fulling working drawers of graduating depths.

This mahogany chest of drawers has book matched veneers and edge banding to the drawer fronts. Turned pilaster columns to front face with the whole sitting upon turned feet.
