A decorative oil on canvas signed G. Inman 1900, painted in a charming, naïve style.
The jockey wears golden silks with a gold trimmed black cap.
Our research leads us to believe this is a representation of the 1st Duke of Westminster’s horse Flying Fox. This horse was quite a character, temperamental and only running 11 races, winning 9 and finishing second in the other two.
In good antique condition, evidence of over painting in the area of the house. It appears a line of trees have been painted out although there is no evidence of damage to the canvas.
Supplied without frame.
